Job Description

The Bookkeeper will support bookkeeping related activities for 7 locations in the Denver, Colorado home office. Perform month-end close activities and verify financial information. Provide information to the field regarding accounting practices and procedures as well as assist in account payable processing. Reconcile and review certain general ledger accounts. Work internally with employees at all levels in the organization. External contacts may include vendors, banks, and internal and external auditors as needed. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities

– Prepare detailed journal entries, rollforwards and balance sheet reconciliations
– Process Corporate Accounts Payable invoices and assist General Managers with Weekly invoice processing
– Prepare and recored month-end accruals
– Process Corporate payroll and assist General Managers with payroll as appropriate
– Ensure compliance with accounting and reporting deadlines
– Perform other related duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility

– Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and payroll
– Oversees training programs and identifies training needs

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week. Hours of business operations are Monday through Friday. Ability to work flexible hours as required.

Required Education, Credentials and Experience

– Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent work experience required
– Two or more years of accounting software experience required
– Three or more years of general ledger accounting experience required
– Prior restaurant accounting experience preferred

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

– Employees must be authorized to work with the United States
